How to reach Everest Base Camp
Day 1
- To reach Kathmandu from Delhi, you need to take a train to reach Gorakhpur from Delhi.
- Train – Vaishali Express (7:45 PM – 09:10 AM)
- Train Fare – Rs. 2440 (AC1), Rs. 1240 (AC2), Rs. 785 (AC3), and Rs. 315 (Sleeper class).
Day 2
- You need to take a jeep or bus from Gorakhpur to Sunauli (Indian side) and Bhairawa (Nepalese side).
- After that, travel to Kathmandu by bus or jeep.
- You can also take an overnight train and travel via Varanasi links with Delhi, or buses that connect with the Nepalese border.

Everest Base Camp Trek: Difficulty level
- Though the difficulty level of Everest Base Camp Trek is much, a person with having medium to good fitness level can escape through it.
- You need to walk for 4 to 6 hours continuously for 14 days to reach the Everest Base Camp. If you’re fit enough, you can do this while carrying your backpack.
- You don’t need any climbing skills or training to complete the hike even though the difficulty level of the trek is high.
- If you climb too fast, it might result in altitude sickness, it doesn’t matter even if you’re fit enough.
- Don’t expect the trek route to be a flat surface. There will be routes going upwards and downwards, and even potholes.
- The difficulty level might increase if your backpack is heavy. This will strain your body while climbing as you climb upwards. Therefore, it is suggested to take the help of a porter.
